Our Mission:
We conserve the lands and waters of the Feather River region and steward their ecological, cultural, and educational values for current and future generations. We accomplish our mission in three primary ways.
Our People:
Our love for the Feather River Country—and being outside—drives our team of experienced professionals to conserve and care for this beautiful place and its ecological and cultural riches.
Our Partnerships and Community
From local communities to nonprofits and government agencies, strategic partnerships help us accomplish more. Together, we’re conserving more land and making a lasting impact for future generations.
Our Story
Rooted in the Feather River Country
We were founded in 2000 by a visionary group of local volunteers. Now a nationally accredited land trust 1,100 members strong, we are protecting the Feather River region’s most important lands and waters.
Explore what makes our watershed special
With some of the lowest population density in California, the Feather River region is a place of big pines, quiet river spots, and small towns. FRLT’s preserves are located in five distinct communities and each has a different story to tell with its history and unique habitats. Our work is more than conserving land; it’s also about conserving and restoring people’s relationship to land. Let’s get out there and explore!
