The Lost Sierra Chamber of Commerce and the City of Portola are pleased to bring you is the Christmas in Old Town event. The event will be held on Friday, December 1st from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Caboose parking lot in downtown Portola on Commercial Street. The festivities will include the “Golden Ticket” give-away for kids ages 3 to 14, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus from 4-6:30pm, the Old Town Marketplace, bonfire, caroling, tree lighting, food, drinks, and much more for the whole family!
We are asking for donations from community members to help make this event a success and purchase gifts for kids in the area to receive during the event. In 2019, we started the “Golden Ticket” drawing for the children of Portola and outlying areas and we are excited to keep the tradition going for another year.
The Highlight! The “Golden Ticket” drawing!
Each child is given a Santa goody bag that contains Christmas items and two “Golden Tickets”. Each child keeps one ticket and puts the other in a jar in hopes of having their special number selected. When their number is called, they get to choose a gift. Each new gift is valued at $25.00 or more! Last year we had bikes, trikes, skateboards, scooters, sport items, toys, books, backpacks, puzzles, games, and much, much more. We don’t sell the Golden Tickets. They are free to any child ages 3 – 14 who attend the event.
If you wish to donate, your donation is 100% tax deductible. All donations go to The Lost Sierra Foundation, a 501c6 non-profit. Once you have donated, you will be provided with a receipt and our tax ID number.
