Plumas Physical Therapy is seeking a physical therapy aide to work variable hours, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate is reliable and self-motivated, with a positive and professional approach to the job.

Job Summary

An unlicensed position, the physical therapy aide assists physical therapists with patient-related tasks under the direction and supervision of the therapists. Other duties are outlined below.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Escort patients to the treatment area, whether gym or pool
  • As instructed by the therapists, set up patient with hot packs, cold packs or exercise program
  • Perform ultrasound or electrical stimulation at the therapists request
  • Clean and tidy therapy areas after use, including changing linen
  • Wipe down all gym equipment after patient use, including free weights, ankle weights, bikes, exercise balls, and tables
  • Fill ultrasound, mineral oil, and alcohol bottles and distribute in clinic as needed
  • Stock all treatment areas with towels and pillowcases as necessary
  • Assist office staff as needed, tasks may include but are not limited to reminder calls, scheduling, making copies, and other-office related tasks
  • Water indoor and outdoor plants as needed
  • Run errands as needed for clinic staff

HIPPA 

The successful candidate must sign a patient confidentiality agreement, known as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPPA. Plumas Physical Therapy staff are required to maintain patient confidentiality.

Skills Required:

On-the-job training for all duties is provided.
• Make telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner
• Attention to detail
• Ability to ask for direction or clarification of instructions
• Prompt and reliable work attendance

Dress Code:

  • Nice work pants and a work-appropriate shirt
  • No hats, tank tops, gym-like clothing, or oversized sweatshirts
  • Closed toed shoes are required at all times
  • No chewing gum while at work
