When it comes to business in Eastern Plumas County, no organization has been looking out for the best interest of this community longer than the Lost Sierra Chamber of Commerce. Since 1980 the Lost Sierra Chamber has worked to support its mission to be a vital strategic partner creating resources and opportunities for member success, quality of life, engagement and meaningful impact.
From traditional mixer events to newer and more progressive programs we have slated for the future such as Leadership Lost Sierra and What’s Brewing, the Lost Sierra Chamber provides the tools and the resources Eastern Plumas County businesses and the community at large need to succeed.
Job description:
You will work closely with current staff and managers of the Marketing team, Chamber Champion, and Visitor Center Coordinator with the Lost Sierra Chamber of Commerce. This internship position will support ongoing and new events planning, organization, and execution of such events. This administrative support also includes social media, newsletter, and other exciting Marketing activities. You will be most successful if you had exposure to events and Marketing communications in previous internships or other school-college-university event planning.
Responsibilities:
Your training opportunities will include but are not limited to:
- Supporting small and mid-sized companies through organizing networking and community events in the Plumas County CA region
- Assisting with organizing, planning, implementation, and post-follow-up of events
- Assisting and coordinating marketing activities internally and with external vendors
- Other administrative responsibilities relevant to project management and event management
- Assist with social media channels
Requested Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in Community College or College-level Coursework
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Understanding of prioritization and efficient allocation of time and resources
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High comfort level interacting with clients
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based and international (virtual) environment
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to grasp complicated subjects quickly
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications
- Working knowledge of the German language
- HTML, Photoshop, and graphic design proficiency is a plus
