Our theme is “Railroad”, reflecting its vital role in Portola’s history. The Inn offers a relaxing, casual, and informal boarding house atmosphere with hometown hospitality and service.
History
The building was built in 1910 by Mattie Conner as a boarding house. Over the years it has served as a hotel, private home, elder care facility, and in 1988 was converted to a Bed & Breakfast. Rumor has it in Portola’s heyday, downtown Portola had thirteen saloons and this may have been a house of ill repute!!
Accommodations
There are six rooms all with private bathrooms. Rooms have queen beds, twin beds, or dual king, and the deluxe room has a queen and king bed. All rooms have TV’s, VCR’s, hairdryers, iron/ironing boards, coffee makers, and phones. In the living room you can visit with the other guests. In the upstairs sitting room, you can read, visit, or watch VCR movies. A Fax, copy machine, and computer are available in the office. We have WiFi available.
Breakfast
A light continental breakfast is served in our dining room before 9:00 a.m. If you have food allergies, or require a special diet, let us know. Early morning coffee and tea is available in the kitchen.
Location
Nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains above Tahoe. 5-10 mintues from Grizzly Ranch, Gold Mountain,
& Graeagle. We are located in downtown Portola. You can walk to the railroad museum, restaurants, shops, churches, business district, city hall schools, hospital, city park, bowling alley, local events, and the Feather River.
Book
Built as a boarding house back in the early 1900s, this B&B provides guests with a daily light continental breakfast and rooms with free WiFi. Western Pacific Railroad Museum is 5 minutes’ walk away.
Each room at the Pullman House Inn provides guests with a satellite TV, a coffee machine and a private bathroom.
Other facilities offered at the property include a shared lounge and luggage storage. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including hiking and fishing. The property offers free parking.
